This course covers in detail the three working steps necessary for conscientious and complete data collection; this includes  the collection itself, the digitization and verification of the data.

Data collection is done in the field and is the responsibility of technicians in Smart-Valleys projects. It can be done on paper, or directly electronically.

If done on paper, the second step is data entry, where the technician enters the data electronically to share with his supervisor and project management.

The control, or verification of the data will then be done by another service provider, to ensure the good quality of the data.

The ODK Collect application, an efficient electronic data collection and entry tool, is also presented. Finally, cloud-based data management systems for online collaboration are finally introduced.
